The visible plate and toggle or dimmer arm are solid metal with our cross-knurl pattern, available in Brass, Black, Steel, and Smoked Bronze. The internal module - the actual dimmer or switch mechanism carrying the electrical current - is plastic rather than metal, which is a safety requirement rather than a design choice.

A toggle switch is a simple on/off control; a dimmer lets you adjust brightness and requires an LED-compatible dimmer module if you're using LED bulbs.

Yes - all our switches, dimmers, and outlets should be installed by a qualified, licensed electrician in line with local electrical codes.

Our dimmer is a push on/off switch, and can then be rotated to adjust the brightness.

In the US, controlling a switch from two locations is known as a 3-way circuit. Our switches can be wired for either single-pole or 3-way use, depending on the module.
